Teens love having extra money for the weekends! It’s a good idea to help them find work from home jobs. Today, I’m sharing a few simple ideas for teens to work from home and make money online.

Sell Unwanted Items at Consignment Sales

This is such a fantastic way for teens to make money on unwanted items. Most consignment sales allow for youth items which often includes: backpacks, sports equipment, clothes, shoes, movies, etc.

You simply clean up your items, enter them into the consignment data base and then price the items according to the sales guidelines.

Simple do a quick search online to find the best consignment sales in your area! The earning potential here is pretty great.

Make Money With a Blog

Blogging is for anyone including teens. With parental supervision, your teen could learn the basics of starting a blog, search engine optimization and more. Not only is this in incredible learning opportunity, but it would look amazing on their transcript.

Teens can make money using Swagbucks. It’s one of the quickest ways to earn free gift cards and so much more. You can earn money when researching school projects, playing games and answer easy surveys.

11 Items To Resell and Make Money Fast

If you are looking for a simple way to make money fast, check out my list of 11 items that you should be able to sell for a profit! Be sure to read to the end and I’ll share my favorite resell outlets!

  1. High End Kids Clothes: I’ve noticed that high end and boutique brand clothing sells quickly if they are in good quality. Double check for stains and tears and if it passes the test, sell it! A good rule of thumb is to ask 60% less than what you paid for it!
  2. Large Kids Toys: Dollhouses, outdoor toys or unique wooden toys sell quickly and usually at a good price! You may want to see what the going prices are for used items in your area to hep gauge what your asking price should be.
  3. Gently Worn Shoes: Another big selling item for me has been gently worn shoes: think Converse, Nike or other name brands.
  4. Home Decor: Did you buy a farmhouse sign that didn’t quite fit on the wall like you hoped? I’ve noticed that home decor can go quickly if priced right. Especially if it is in like new condition!
  5. Kids Sports/Elective equipment: Think baseball gloves, ballet tutus, tap shoes, etc. These are hot ticket items and usually sell well if they are in good condition.
  6. Luggage: This is a surprisingly easy sell in our area. Luggage can get expensive fast so many folks will check for used options first!
  7. Large Furniture Items: I haven noticed items like dressers, chests or any kind of large furniture can sell quickly if priced right.
  8. Organizational Items: Cubbies, storage cubes, storage containers. These sell well right before school starts as many teachers are browsing for items for their classrooms.
  9. Large Appliances: If you recently updated your washer, dryer or maybe even your fridge–these can go quickly and for a good price.
  10. Collectible Toys: Think Shopkins, Pokemon, Harry Potter, any collectors item that maybe hard to find.
  11. Homeschool Curriculum: This is another hot ticket items. If you have unused workbooks or teacher guides laying around unused, these will often sell for excellent prices!

So, where exactly do you resell these items? I recommend large furniture pieces, toys, books, etc for yard sales. For high end kids clothing and toys, I have always had great luck with consignment sales. Online yard sales are also great for just about anything! Just be sure to take safety measures and meet in public areas. Most local police departments offer meeting grounds for those making online transactions.

Start A Blog: Firstly, you should consider creating a blog. I go into more detail here! It is a GREAT way to create a passive income for your family. Secondly, its also a great way to network with other entrepreneurs and learn there strategies for work from home careers!

Copywriting: This is probably one of the easiest and most efficient ways to start making money right away with a work from home job. You can sign up through sites like Fiverr or Freelancer to get started.

Survey Sites: I know, this one seems to be overkill on most sites, but honestly, it’s just free money sitting there. This was a great way to earn gift cards for coffee and gas! For example, I loved using Swagbucks! It was a great way to make fun money and well, have fun doing it! And it just takes a small pocket of time throughout your day. If you are consistent, you can make extra cash on a regular basis.

Consignment Sales: Consequently, consignments sales are such a great way to make extra money throughout the year for whatever you need. I go through our closets, toy boxes, clothes, games and books each season and sell them through my favorite consignment outlets. As a result, I have made anywhere from $100 to $250 depending on the amount of items that I sell. Most sales now offer online entry which makes if faster and more convenient.

Easy Money Making Bonus Idea

Facebook Marketplace: In the same vain as consignment sale, if you have a knack for finding great deals, try to re-sale them on Marketplace. Furniture pieces, kids clothes and homeschool materials sell like hot cakes. You may want to do a quick search on your local marketplace to see what is selling. Even better, do a little spring cleaning and see what cash you can make off of items you no longer need. I have an entire post dedicated to this money making tip here.
